Gordon Gano & The Ryan Brothers 8:00 pm $15

It's been nearly 30 years since folk-punk icons the Violent Femmes released their landmark self-titled debut, but nasal-voiced frontman Gordon Gano certainly hasn't lost his touch. Gordon Gano & the Ryans is a collaboration between Gano and Brendan & Billy Ryan, former members of '90s indie rock band the Bogmen and current film composers (Fever Pitch, The Heartbreak Kid). Under the Sun, which was recorded primarily at the Carriage House in Stamford, CT, also features Frank Ferrer of Guns N' Roses on drums and Lonnie Hillyer of Maggie's Dream on bass.

Signify 10:00 pm $15

In 2004, the rock scene in New York was changed forever. Signify was born. Dawnette Darden's frankenstein-like creation of the best musicians New York had to offer. Darden, dubbed 'the miniature Tina Turner' after her incredible voice and style, had previously toured throughout Europe and North America as a member of numerous different musical acts. After years of doing this, she finally realized that what she really craved was a band of her own. As a result, Dawnette took it upon herself to recruit the most outstanding musicians she could find with intentions of creating a musical masterpiece.

Junior Brown 8:00 pm $35/$50

A lot of people tell me they don't like country music, but they like what I am doing," says Junior Brown. "I hear that line more than anything else," which is ironic because a couple of licks is all it takes to erase any doubts concerning Junior's stylistic allegiance. His music combines the soul of country and the spirit of rock n' roll. In Junior's case, playing everywhere from the Grand Ole Opry to rock showcases on the West Coast and his hometown of Austin, Texas, *crossover* is not synonymous with watered-down or light-weight.

Nancy Atlas 10:00 pm $15

Nancy Atlas is the missing link between Lucinda Williams and Sheryl Crow. Original Americana Rock with a touch of Southern Comfort. She walks the line between swaggering rock chick and thread bare poet, garnering her a legion of die hard fans and in house respect.
